Year 2020 Dec. 22, 2020
Oh, my it’s Christmas – maybe, not
really sure
Likely no reader too mad yet, but that won’t last. Nothing I write from this point on, will fail to irritate someone. Still the cornball must roll on. If you are a Covid hoaxer, may your last breath be, ‘but it’s not real.’ President-elect Biden should not be a trigger phrase, but it has become one. I wouldn’t be surprised or worried if a small segment of the population swore to have seen a Kraken carrying away Trump votes to its lair of evil. Unfortunately, grown up Congress people and state attorney generals are among those putting forward delusion. If you haven’t quite crumpled this letter yet, a book suggestion – Congressman Riggleman (R) has an interesting book – Bigfoot … It’s Complicated. A good read as you breathlessly await another Sidney Powell court filing, or possibly one of Lin Woods with “plenty of perjury.”
I suggest an experiment for everyone to try. Shut yourself away in quiet place for ten minutes. Reflect on your life and future, think of your family and friends. What would you hope for them? What would you pray for them? What future time do you sincerely desire? Make a list of your top five or ten aspirations of a future for your family and friends. Take a silent moment of gratitude for life itself. Now if we all compare our lists, we will all share 80 to 90 percent of the same priorities. In our list of aspirations our election choices will not matter; our aspirations for all our lives are very similar. Keep that in mind as power brokers try to profit by partisan division. Karen Grace Parker a character in my novel ended the novel with this reflection – “Life at the eternal core is unchanging. Each age adapting to bring love into its soul, a love as infinite as the stars in the sky.”
Yes, I did write a novel. This may have been an ill-advised use of my time. It certainly cost me fitness as I dedicated so much of my time creating it. It may be mediocre, it may remain unread, but it is a novel. I did get some feedback from a reader and adapted the narration. There is now an unnamed narrator to help guide and tag the stories. The narrator says it is moving to a small town where everyone knows everyone and their histories, you the newcomer are left to piece it together. I am adding the last revision to the web site.Read the PDF Version.

Although, it is very much based on the world I grew up in none of you are in it. I would appreciate feedback. The title is Null Stillness – Null is not empty, and Silence is not still. There is an accompanying Apple Playlist of songs referenced in the novel. It will undoubtedly irritate some people, it will bore others, but I do hope some people will find it amusing and worth the experience. I would really love to improve our world, but I feel powerless to do so. Therefore, I make snarky asides. Saving our planet must come before all else or my James will not have a decent world to live in. I shared a cartoon recently one character says, “Staying home has allowed me more time for self-reflection.” His friend replies, “Well that’s good.” He says, “Nope it’s not, it‘s not.” I have more time to watch cable news, read on the Internet, stream video, work on a novel, work on the website, sit, sit, and sit. Occasionally I take Erik and Laura’s dog Reggie for a walk. Once I get a vaccination I am going back to the gym, I need to get fit again. I have trips to take. I like the camping and hiking plans I have been doing. I also hope to trace all ancestors back to immigration country still a few dead ends. Maybe that is how my ancestors would view me as a dead end.
