Is your Marriage as Good, as it Looks on Facebook?

I only wrote 'Good Morning I feel grateful' post as an expression of my feelings at the moment – maybe just to counter all the negativity people often post, possibly to appease all the hacked off people who have read my fact checking posts. My posts although sourced accurately do irritate those with opposing points of view. Nancy and I, both talk about how grateful we are. We acknowledge how fortunate we are at this point in our lives. Nancy said, “our being married for thirty-three years is surely part of Steve’s feeling fulfilled, adding it better be.” Of course, everyone knows we’ve been married for thirty-three years because we posted it on Facebook. I try to follow the rule never put on Facebook what you wouldn’t want your mother to see or your boss. Even though my 94-year-old mother-in-law doesn’t have a computer she often hears about things I put on Facebook. I believe having lived so much of my life in a small town, the same one my mother has often lived in, has established my Facebook rules.

I do not want my Facebook life to be a series of humble brags, but sometimes it is. People complain about all the drama on Facebook, usually these are the same people with a lot of drama in their own life. If people are too dramatic, ignore them. I often ignore my friends with opposing political views. I know their opinions, I still work together with them. – Occasionally, I add a correction or fact check if they are promoting false news. Otherwise, everyone has a right to their opinion; I am not required to believe anyone’s opinion over actual facts.
