I started this web site to help my fellow Forgottonians express themselves. I hope it allows those distant from our land to be touched by the spirit of our prairies, hills, and streams. Although the Forgottonia movement was started as a publicity stunt to bring development projects to Forgottonia; we are remarkably resistant to development. Our lack of refinement, our underdevelopment is an essential ingredient of our charm. We prefer to remain the shy and quiet child unnoticed by the world. We are enriched by the a priori truth, that Forgottonia is best when un-synced with the present. Simply because there are fewer of us and we prefer to stay fixed on our own affairs, doesn't mean we aren't friendly, insightful, and filled with interesting tales. I earnestly hope the world outside of Forgottonia makes great progress towards being the most desirable places to live. Leaving us Forgottonians to ourselves, only to be visited by the outside world.

Forgottonia is a place where you can endlessly wander the lonely roads, and never once miss the fast lane. The name Forgottonia captures an image of a region off the beaten path, which is very true of Western Illinois.
