Year 2019
Hey, have you heard the good news?
On another good news front my son Alex is engaged. He and Joni Moore are planning a wedding on July 11, 2020. Just as an aside to all the young single women, looking for a near perfect husband. He’s my last son. James will not be 21 until June 27, 2040. Learn to get that swipe right thing perfected. Joni and Alex are a contrast in heights. Joni is everything Alex is not, petite, exuberantly outgoing, and good on a snowboard. Joni is very cute, but so is Alex. I’d say they are doing equally well in the cuteness quotient. We are very pleased and lucky. Joni is an RN and will start in OSF pediatric emergency in January. Alex is lawyering at a new firm Benckendorf & Benckendorf of Peoria and Morton. www.benckendorf.com
Nancy is a Monday Grandma and an EP!C grant writer on other days. She is overwhelmingly thrilled with baby James. She got up early on Sunday morning to make it to Princeville’s 9 o’clock service. Nancy wanted to watch James be held during the Christmas Pageant. He did play the part well but had no spoken lines, therefore no residuals will be rolling in. We were able to spend a few days on Jekyll Island in Georgia. Her beach vacay was a good one. We also saw Fleetwood Mac and Hamilton in Chicago. The Doobie Bros came to Peoria on our anniversary. It was my first date with Nancy in Iowa when we saw them in Cedar Rapids. It seemed like a no brainer gift. This is far more outings than is normal for our life. Next year we will have to stay close to home like dairy farmers. A good number of dairy farmers lost their homes, maybe not a good analogy.
