Year 2018
My career as dog walker continues well. We do not have a dog, Erik’s dog, Reggie, commutes to hang with the old folks. He attends our family gatherings but Nancy refuses to set a place for him at the table. Erik is now tenured at Elmwood, Laura is a guidance counselor in Chillicothe. They live in Princeville, a commute of about twenty minutes for both of them. Erik, Laura, and Reggie are looking forward to welcoming a new family member next June. This addition is projected to be a small human. Their carefree days of sailing the high seas and accepting privateer commissions are over. Erik is also working on a master’s degree from Arizona State without ever going to ASU or getting them to change those ugly Sun Devil colors. It is in history. He and I have had great discussions about Vietnam, Civil War, Grant, Lee, and even ancestry research
