Turning the Frantic Family into A Fulfilling Family
Finally when you have more than one child.
Allow each child to be itself. They are not football players all competing to be the quarterback. Never compare one child with another. Never hold up one child as an example to their siblings. Nancy read a book Siblings without Rivalries; we based our actions on it. With Erik and Alex it has worked out they are best friends.
Actually, I just did what Nancy told me to do.
But they did not understand what he was saying to them.
Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
The Bible doesn’t give many details of Jesus as a youth, but I believe Jesus could have stayed at the temple, like a boarding school. Surely, if all these great scholars were astonished at Jesus’ insights and acumen, someone would have suggested to Joseph and Mary all the advantages of a good education in Jerusalem. After all, what did life, as a poor carpenter, have to offer compared to the grandeur of the temple. So once again and this is just my opinion, I think God’s plan included the education of life as a normal young man learning to help his family by working. God must find a common family a good place for children; a fulfilling experience for parent and child.
After all it was God’s choice for God’s only Son.
