http://www.myspace.com/thescotsmen Erik methodically jumped from bureaucratic hoop to hoop to get them approved as an official student group. This was made difficult because of the infighting going on in the music department at the time. I was quite proud of his perseverance and the popularity of the group. I finally got Nancy to start a Facebook page; it is social networking, and she enjoys it much more than I do. Nancy is my friend, but our sons think all the old people using Facebook is just wrong. It is for teenage girls. We are not friends with our sons, in a Facebook sense. We have a great relationship with Erik and Alex in real life.

Email or Facebook are good ways to keep in touch. We have multiple years worth of Christmas cards we never got mailed. I do work on the web site elmwoodil.org and can be reached through it. I decided to put all of Mom’s envelopes of family information on Ancestry.com. I can also be reached through that site. I am working on scanning photos documenting what items we have in our family. This is far more of a time consuming process than I imagined. I have learned a great deal; I really enjoy learning more of American history from this perspective.
