You probably haven't heard much about West Park, not very important in a time when the Downtown is in such distress. West Park just shows how many projects still remain and will remain for a couple of years. So everyone in Elmwood needs to find a role and do what needs to be done. We are not in competition with each other, we are dependent on each other. I came from a very small town; a town can't get much smaller than Smithshire and be a place. We often felt like we were the only ones to defend and care about Smithshire. We didn't have the luxury of not using everyone to make a baseball team. We were Smithshire against the world. Elmwood needs to band together as well; we need to be determined that Elmwood will be resilient enough to succeed even in a world that seems pitted against us. If we do come together in unity, many others will be at our side. Most of the world is simply indifferent to Elmwood, but a great many want to be on our side.
Or we can just throw it all in a dumpster.
